n 1985 Dr Edward de Bono developed the “Six Thinking Hats.” This thinking methodology asks students to think about an idea, decision, or problem from six different perspectives and to move outside their usual thinking style to get a more rounded view of a situation.
“Six Thinking Hats” can be applied to any subject, phase or age group. Students can use it to:
Discuss topics, subjects
Problem solve
Look at different alternatives or ways of doing something
Reach decisions
Brainstorm or gather ideas or information
Research, organise and write reports
Or just to extend their thinking in a fun way
