Change management is a term used to refer to the introduction of new processes in a school, or the management of people who are experiencing change. For members of SMT’s to ensure that their strategic goals are met it is imperative that they fully understand the emotional cycle of change, how to implement change and how to overcome resistance to change.
This course is designed to help members of school management teams understand and implement strategic planning and change management in their schools. Teachers who do this course will better understand the different factors that affect a school environment and be able to work within this framework to the benefit of all stakeholders. They will also learn how to analysis their schools internally and externally using a variety of different tools such as SWOT and PESTLE and write up an action plan to communicate their strategic goals to all stakeholders. Teachers will be able to facilitate change in the workplace and support their staff while doing so. They will learn how to change resistance to change into support and overcome the barriers to change in the workplace. By the end of the course teachers will be able to measure the success of the change they have implemented in the work environment
