The Situation

Oliver SA briefed their training provider Red & Yellow of their need for a recruiter to find a deserving candidate for their learnership program in Digital Marketing. Red & Yellow then approached The Knowledge Trust as their trusted recruitment partner to get on the case. There was no time to spare as Oliver SA had 10 days left until their business year ends so the project needed to be concluded in just 9 days. Oliver SA was dealing with a sensitive time constraint. They were also experiencing difficulty finding the right candidates that met their criteria and were the right fit for the program. 

The Task

The candidate brief was as follows: 
  • Number of candidates: 1
  • Location: Gauteng
  • Qualification: Grade 12 – minimum average of 50% and Maths or Maths Literacy -minimum 50%
  • Age: 18 – 34
  • Ethnicity: African, Coloured, Indian or Asian
  • Employment status: Currently unemployed and not studying
  • Growth mindset: At least 80%
  • Numeracy Test: At least 75%
  • Advertising screening questionnaire: 100%
  • Professional communication: 80%
  • Available for interviews: Within 6 days
  • Available to start: 1 March 2021
  • Stipend: R4500

The Action

The Knowledge Trust community at the time was just short of 100 000 members however, the engagement was high. After their meeting on friday morning, the 11th of December, the campaign strategy for sourcing the ideal was as follows: 

  1. Access the existing community via the weekly Saturday newsletter which receives high engagement, as well as social media.
  2. Utilize our Bounty Hunter Referral program.

The Results

The fast-paced yet thorough campaign to find 1 suitable candidate for the learnership resulted in a total of 40 419 opportunity views. The learnership received 4006 completed applications.
